Monthly Membership meeting is Thursday January 9th, 9:30 AM at Broken Yolk in Oceanside. Yes, Dick Fisher actually grew up on Alcatraz! Listen as he shares stories of what it was like growing up as the son of a correctional officer stationed at the infamous prison during the mid 1930s. He was there as a child for 3 1/2 years,and then moved away.  Years later, after serving in the military, Dick moved back to the island with his family for another 3 1/2 years, while attending San Jose State College during the mid 1950s. Not only will he relieve experiences of his childhood, but also share his perspectives about returning to “the rock” as a young man.
