We are welcoming a new column to our newsletter written by one of our members, GAIL MICHAELS. The column is called SUNNY AND SHARE and will feature happy, exciting events in the lives of our members. Included will be such things as births, special birthdays, anniversaries, fun vacations and the like. The first happy news is the birth of baby LEVI JEFFERY SMITH. He was born on Sept 9th and weighed 6 lbs and10 oz. Proud Mom is Stephanie and grandmother is ELIZABETH DEBOER and greatgrandmother is VIRGINIA DEBOER. Welcome Levi!

This is playing at the Lawrence Welk Theater on Saturday Dec. 2nd or Dec. 9th. Matinee performance. We are trying to get together a group of ten for the special ticket price of $38 per person. If you are interested in attending please call Mary Dahlberg by October 31. We will also have a sign-up sheet at the October Coffee. Lunch will be at the Canyon Grill at the Welk Resort.

We will be touring Chuao Chocolatier in Carlsbad on a Friday in November. The tours are only on Fridays. Please let Trudy know of your planned attendance so that she may set up the tour. There will be a sign up sheet at the October Coffee.

BUNCO NEWS

Since our dear Karen Taylor left the Vista area, she also left an opening in our Bunco fun day. We now have 11 regular players where there should be 12. I’m looking for that 12th player.
We play on the 1st Monday of every month. We take turns hosting once a year. We put in $4.00 dollars to play and $3.00 more dollars toward our yearly luncheon in January. If you have most Bunco’s you will win $16.00. That is if you don’t have to share. For most wins you can get $12.00, for 2nd most wins you will get $8.00, for 50/50 you will get $8.00, and for most losses $4.00. Again, that is the amount you can win if you don’t have to share.

Please let me know if you would be interested in joining our Bunco group and be a regular player. You do know that the game is a no brainer but we do have so much fun. Mary Held

I sent a “get well” card to Lois Walsh. She developed pneumonia. I have not heard how well she is feeling today however. We hope you’re feeling a whole lot better by now. I sent a “condolence” card to Yolanda Hayden. Her nephew passed away from cardiac arrest just before an operation. He was only 42 years old and lived in Mexico City. So sad Yolanda.

I want to thank Judy Paterson, Mary Bellinger, Sally McVitty, Bunny Hallstrom and Maureen Tutino for the beautiful greeting cards you gave me. Thank you, thank you again.
Remember dear friends if you know of anyone who is not feeling well, who just needs a “pick me up” card, please let me know and I will be happy to send one of the lovely cards out. I wish all of our members a healthy happy fall.

Movie for October: Our October Movie will be “The Mountain Between Us”, starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba. We will see it at Edwards Theater on San Marcos Blvd. on Friday, October 13. Time TBA.
