Thursday, December 7 will be the date for our Holiday Party Event. The Venue will be the Twin Oaks Golfcourse in San Marcos. Entertainment will be provided. The menu will be Chicken Picatta, Grilled Salmon or Pasta Primavera.

The cost of the luncheon will be $30 for members and $36.60 for non- members. VFN is giving members $6.60. Hope you will be able to join us for a fun event to celebrate the holidays and friendship. Start saving your money now. Linda M

The ladies of Vista Friends and Newcomers are always looking for new activities which we think our members will enjoy. We are proud to announce the start of our latest venture, “Fine Dining”. This will be an opportunity for those who are interested to get together every second or third month at a very nice restaurant to enjoy good company and good food. The venue and timing (luncheon, dinner, brunch) for these meals will be the hostess’s choice .

Our inaugural event will be a brunch on Sunday, September 17th at 12:30pm at the Park Hyatt Aviara. We will be exploring the Sparkling Brunch Buffet with endless Mimosas and Bellinis. The cost is $58 per person. If you would like more information or to sign up please contact the “delicious” Janet Leary at 760.758.7717 or at leary2202@att.net. She will need to get our reservation to the restaurant on Thursday, September 14th so that will be your deadline to notify her of your attendance. Get your taste buds and your empty tummies ready!

BUNCO

Since our dear Karen Taylor left the Vista area, she also left an opening in our Bunco fun day. We now have 11 regular players where there should be 12. I’m looking for that 12th player.
We play on the 1st Monday of every month. We take turns hosting once a year. We put in $4.00 dollars to play and $3.00 more dollars toward our yearly luncheon in January. If you have most Bunco’s you will win $16.00. That is if you don’t have to share. For most wins you can get $12.00, for 2nd most wins you will get $8.00, for 50/50 you will get $8.00, and for most losses $4.00. Again, that is the amount you can win if you don’t have to share.
Please let me know if you would be interested in joining our Bunco group and be a regular player. You do know that the game is a no brainer but we do have so much fun. Mary H

I sent “get well” cards to Sally McVitty and Carla Berhold.

Sally fell a while back. Lynn Hillman said she saw her the other day and said she was doing so much better.

Carla has been having back problems again, along with her hip, leg and knee problems. We’re thinking of you both and hoping it won’t be long until you feel a lot better. We missed you both at the Board Meeting. Take care gals.
